Hello, my name is Michael; Rainingheavy is my online alias.

I am trained as a Product Designer, and currently work as a Robotics Engineer for a custom automation manufacturing company. I am involved in the design and manufacture of custom robotics; both one-offs and as repeat product solutions.

I have previously worked in the Point-of-Sale, design and manufacture industry where my role involved taking designs from a variety of stages; rough sketches through to fully developed 3D CAD, and producing a physical object. From rough foamboard mock-ups through fully functional models to miniature scale pieces for presentations.

I am well versed in making things, either at work using various CNC machinery, or at home with my motley collection of tools, including a Lathe and pair of 3D Printers. I often plan and think in CAD - Solidworks for 3D and AutoCAD for 2D, but also work from rough sketches, depending on complexity and time.
